USA Economy Decline Increases Home Based Business Sales
added: 2009-07-18

A massive increase in the sale of home based businesses over the last 18 months has been directly attributed to the declining economy and increasing lack of job security stated IBFS one of the largest internet home business providers.

Although the downturn in the US economy has affected off-line companies large and small with job losses and company closures, the internet home based e-business industry has continued to grow from strength to strength. Figures from the latest SBRB (Small Business Research Board) e-commerce study show that internet business and sales is expected to continue to increase over the next 12 months. And with a whopping 132% increase in internet users in North America (InternetWorldStats.com) the internet continues to grow from strength to strength despite the economic downturn.

85% Of Home Based e-Business Owners Not Affected

The latest figures from IBFS show that over 85% of people who have started a home based business in the last 2 years say that their businesses have not seen a decline and over 30% of the whole surveyed said their home based businesses have grown despite the economic climate. President Obama has pledged action on several issues affecting e-commerce, including online privacy and extending broadband Internet access as well as tasking the Government to take a more activist role encouraging online growth of the US e-commerce market.

International business broker IBFS who specializes in setting people up with home based businesses stated that sales of businesses to private individuals had increased over the last 2 years. Managing Director of Internet Businesses For Sale.co.uk (IBFS) Paul Giles said "One of the main reasons clients have given when purchasing a start-up business over the last 18 - 24 months is the state of the US economy and job insecurity."
