Constant Contact®, Inc. announced the results of its 2009 U.S. Small Business Valentine’s Day Outlook survey. According to the responses from more than 2,500 U.S. small businesses, the majority of respondents (76 percent) do not anticipate strong Valentine’s Day sales. In an attempt to boost Valentine’s Day sales, forty-seven percent of respondents plan to offer special promotions, with the majority (56 percent) favoring online marketing methods over traditional print and advertising methods.

The Science Coalition urged Congress to move swiftly to pass economic recovery legislation that includes strong funding for key science agencies including the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy Office of Science, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and National Institute of Standards and Technology. While the House-passed version of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act included vital investments for these agencies, those funding levels were decreased in the Senate-passed version.
