May saw online visitation surge at gift- related sites as Mother's Day and other seasonal events prompted many to search for gifts online. Coupon sites also witnessed strong growth as bargain-hunting remained a top priority for many Americans.

A new IBM study reveals that less than 20 percent of consumers trust food companies to develop and sell food products that are safe and healthy for themselves and their families. The study also shows that 60 percent of consumers are concerned about the safety of food they purchase, and 63 percent are knowledgeable about the content of the food they buy.

A new survey reveals that college savings concerns currently are or will affect the daily lives of 83% of parents, with 64% actively making changes to their current spending habits. The survey, commissioned by Futuretrust(R) and conducted by Harris Interactive(R), also finds that 92% of U.S. parents(1) expect to have to pay for their children's college education but more than half (57%) do not believe that they will be able to save enough money to afford college for their children.
